Men: the path through manhood is generally a long, tough journey.
It gets harder every year… but don’t worry, you’ll get harder too.
Prepare to be taken for granted.
Prepare to receive pain and suffering.
You probably won’t be heard often.
You probably will be trampled on.
You’ll likely be ridiculed for showing weakness.
You likely won’t be appreciated as much as you deserve to be.
You’ll receive your share of disappointments.
You’ll dish out some of your own, too.
Your heart will be frequently broken if you’re lucky.
For your heart needs to be filled with love to be broken.
You’ll be expected to sacrifice, provide and protect.
You won’t be expected to communicate your pain.
You’ll work long and hard doing things that will seem thankless.
You’ll rest short and infrequently just to barely keep the batteries charged.
If you’re lucky, you’ll get guidance and support from men who have done it before.
If you’re unlucky, you’ll have someone hand it all over to you on a silver platter.
For the journey of life is about facing problems head on, and figuring them out for yourself.
True life experience forces us to grow and evolve.
It’s through the challenges and failures that our strongest self emerges.
So embrace the opportunity to know your strongest self.
And welcome the opportunity to help someone know theirs too.
The world needs strong men.
Entering Manhood will help to prepare you for the long, tough journey ahead.
